सुरेंद्रनाथ सांध्य महाविद्यालय के हिन्दी विभाग में ऑनर्स पाठ्यक्रम का विधिवत आरंभ 2005 में हुआ था । तब से लेकर अब तक हिंदी साहित्य और भाषा से जुड़े पाठ्यक्रम समय के साथ नए विकल्पों और विषयों को समाहित करते चले हैं जिससे छात्र एवं छात्राएं लाभान्वित हो सकें । हिंदी भाषा और साहित्य का अध्ययन भारतीय समाज एवं संस्कृति की विचारशक्ति को गहराई से जानने का अवसर देता है। वर्तमान समय में हिन्दी विभाग में राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति के तहत यूनिवर्सिटी ओफ कोलकाता द्वारा निर्धारित नवीन पाठ्यक्रम की शुरुआत हो चुकी है । हिंदी मेजर (Major) के चार वर्षीय पाठ्यक्रम में भाषा और साहित्य के विविध पक्षों की जानकारी दी जाती है । साथ ही हिंदी भाषा से जुड़े रचनाकार और उनकी कालजयी कृतियाँ पाठ्यक्रम में शामिल हैं जो समय, समाज के ज्वलंत विषयों पर गहन संवेदनशीलता के साथ विचार करने को ‌प्रेरित करती हैं । अन्य विषयों के ऑनर्स में यह जनरल और अनिवार्य पेपर के रूप में भी पढ़ाई जाती है।

The honours course in the Hindi department of Surendranath Evening College was formally started in 2005. Since then, the courses related to Hindi literature and language have been incorporating new options and subjects with time so that the students can benefit. The study of Hindi language and literature gives an opportunity to know the thinking power of Indian society and culture in depth.

वर्तमान समय में हिन्दी विभाग में राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति के तहत यूनिवर्सिटी ओफ कोलकाता द्वारा निर्धारित नवीन पाठ्यक्रम की शुरुआत हो चुकी है । हिंदी मेजर (Major) के चार वर्षीय पाठ्यक्रम में भाषा और साहित्य के विविध पक्षों की जानकारी दी जाती है । साथ ही हिंदी भाषा से जुड़े रचनाकार और उनकी कालजयी कृतियाँ पाठ्यक्रम में शामिल हैं जो समय, समाज के ज्वलंत विषयों पर गहन संवेदनशीलता के साथ विचार करने को ‌प्रेरित करती हैं । अन्य विषयों के ऑनर्स में यह जनरल और अनिवार्य पेपर के रूप में भी पढ़ाई जाती है।

At present, the new curriculum prescribed by the University of Kolkata under the National Education Policy has been started in the Hindi department. In the four-year course of Hindi Major, information is given about various aspects of language and literature. Along with this, writers related to Hindi language and their timeless works are included in the curriculum, which inspire to think with deep sensitivity on the burning issues of time and society. It is also taught as a general and compulsory paper in the honours of other subjects.
